# How to schedule playlists on your screens

Buzzblender's playlist manager and calendar-based scheduling let you control what plays on each screen, and when. You can create playlists, assign them to specific screens, and set the days and times they appear—all from one dashboard.

### What is a playlist?

A playlist is a sequence of content items—images, videos, or other media—that plays in order on one or more screens. Each item appears for a set duration before the next one takes over. Playlists are the building blocks of your digital signage: they organize what you want to show and keep it playing consistently.

### What is Schedule View?

Schedule View is Buzzblender's calendar-based dashboard for planning content playback. It shows you when each playlist is active and on which screens.

### How playlist scheduling works

The basic workflow follows three steps:

1. **Set the schedule.** Pick the days and time windows when the playlist should be active. Buzzblender will automatically start and stop playback at the times you define.
2. **Select your media.** Build your playlist in the playlist manager by adding the media items you want to show, arranging them in order, and setting how long each item displays.
3. **Choose your screens.** Assign the playlist to one or more connected screens. You can target a single display or push the same playlist to multiple locations at once.

### Reading the schedule screen

The [schedule screen](https://app.buzzblender.com/schedule) gives you a visual overview of your planned content. You can see:

* **Which playlists are active** on each screen
* **When they start and end** for any given day
* **Gaps or overlaps** in your schedule, so you can adjust timing to ensure continuous playback

Use this view to confirm your setup before walking away—verify that the right playlists are queued up for the right times.

### Tips for effective scheduling

* **Match content to audience time.** Schedule promotional playlists during peak traffic hours, and switch to general content during slower periods.
* **Plan for multiple screens.** If you manage screens in different locations or time zones, double-check that each schedule matches the local audience's schedule.
* **Leave no gaps.** Make sure at least one playlist is scheduled for every hour your displays are on, so your screens never go blank.

Here is an example of [effective scheduling usage](https://buzzblender.com/buzzblender-digital-signage-software-for-clinics/) that increased sales by 30% by driving spontaneous purchases using the BuzzBlender digital signage platform.

### What's next

Once your playlists are scheduled, you can monitor playback from your dashboard and make updates anytime. If you need to adjust a running playlist or change a schedule, you can do so remotely without touching the screen itself.
