# Using Hotel Mode on Android TV

Instead of blank screens or paused streaming apps, guests see your promotions, menus, announcements, and QR codes—driving revenue and engagement.

### What Hotel Mode does

Traditional [hotel mode](https://buzzblender.com/industries/android-tv-hotel-mode/) features on TVs let you lock settings, set default inputs, and control volume or access. [Buzzblender](https://buzzblender.com/) extends this concept: your screens display targeted content when they're idle or when streaming apps like Netflix are paused, turning downtime into a marketing channel.

With Hotel Mode, you can:

* **Show promotions and offers** — Display room service menus, restaurant specials, spa packages, happy hour deals, or facility promotions.
* **Display QR codes for instant conversion** — Let guests scan to view digital menus, place orders, book services, or access booking links.
* **Push announcements in seconds** — Send emergency alerts, event updates, building notices, or internal communications to all screens at once.
* **Lock settings and control access** — Prevent guest misuse, set default inputs, and manage volume remotely.
* **Manage all screens from one dashboard** — Update content across multiple rooms or locations without visiting each TV.
